Resolve the supplier before scoring the signal
A news story about a similarly named business can create a convincing false alert. Match signals to the correct legal entity, location, and supplier record. Keep source dates and provenance attached so reviewers can distinguish a new development from an old event being repeated.
Build an escalation workflow
Separate evidence collection, interpretation, and the business decision. An alert should explain the signal, affected supplier, and uncertainty. Give a named owner responsibility for reviewing the alert and recording whether action was warranted.
Evaluate alerts over time
Track confirmed incidents, false alerts, stale sources, and time from signal to review. Deduplicate repeated reports. A larger stream of warnings is not an improvement if procurement cannot tell which supplier needs attention.
